Fun picture book, with hilarious illustrations -- those lions! With their manes pulled back in pony tails, riding skateboards, looking dismayed with their silly, silly faces! Also a good book about going your own way, and making the best of what you've got. ( )

The book is about a boy who finds out that if he collects and send in enough coupons, he'll be able to get a free lion. The only way he could get the coupons were he if had the corn flakes cereal that offered the promotion. After he finally saved enough coupons he sent them in to receive his lion. He waited and waited but everybody in the neighborhood but him received their lion. A couple of days later he received a bear, then a crocodile,and a gorilla. He was made in the beginning because the animals weren't the lion but after he thought about it, he was happy that he had the animals they sent him instead of the lion because everyone in the neighborhood had one.
I would use this book when teaching list or series of events. ( )

Now I know why my daughter keeps asking if there are prizes in the cereal. Remember when we were kids? Never a Lion thank goodness! Funny story! ( )
