Questa recensione è stata scritta per gli Omaggi dei Membri di LibraryThing . If this book didn't make me want to hop a plane to take me across the big pond, I don't think anything will. Right from the beginning, I fell in love with Vicki's antics and all of her adventures (including her many libations). I was able to live vicariously through Vicki and enjoy the beautiful Parisian life, if only for a few days. Truth be told, I tried to take my time reading it because I didn't want the adventure to end. I was in no hurry to return to the monotony of a dull life in the States. I saw ads for other books by this author, and I have no doubt that they will be equally as entertaining. I won this kindle book from Goodreads Giveaway. It was cute. Not much substance to the story line but it is just what the book summary states. It gives you a look into what life could be like if you moved from another country in your early 20’s. It stresses the challenges faced but also the possibilities just as in any life In Confessions of a Paris Party Girl, author Vicki Lesage, is an American expatriate who weaves an entertaining memoir that provides an account of the first six years of her life in Paris, France. Written in a sassy style, Vicki transports the reader to Paris, France, where they get a glimpse into her new life. Her memoir is full of hilarious snippets of her adventures, mishaps, and trials and tribulations, that provides plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. From getting her drink on, to sampling delicious croissants, to attracting quirky Frenchmen, to her issues with the French bureaucracy, this newly transplanted Paris Party Girl sure made a splash in the City of Light. As the reader gets a glimpse into the author's new life abroad, you can't help but wish that you went along for the ride! Ooh la la! Confessions of a Paris Party Girl is a fast paced and thoroughly entertaining memoir that can be read in a day. When newly-single party girl Vicki moves to Paris, she hopes to indulge in wine, stuff her face with croissants, and fall in love. It proves to be much more difficile than she imagined. In this laugh-out-loud memoir, this cheeky storyteller recounts the highs and lows of her life in the City of Light. Sassy and shamelessly honest, Vicki makes you feel as if you're right there in Paris stumbling along the cobblestones with her. Will she find love? Will she learn to consume reasonable amounts of alcohol? Will French bureaucracy ever cut her a break? Confessions of a Paris Party Girl is a delicious cocktail of the humor of Tina Fey, the candor of Amy Poehler, and the self-deprecating charm of Mindy Kaling. You'll feel as if you're chatting over a bottle of wine with your new best friend, one who drinks as much as Chelsea Handler and makes you laugh as much as Sophie Kinsella. ‘Confessions Of A Paris Party Girl’ are Vicki’s memoirs and recounts of the hilarious frustrations that can occur when you first move abroad.
She writes in a manner that is highly entertaining. The simplicity makes for an easy read. Vicki actually talks directly to the reader like an old friend. The sarcastic comedy made me laugh out loud many a time. The events progress well and keeps you wanting to read more.
I am such a fan of of this author and I absolutely can not wait to read her second book ‘Confessions Of A Paris Potty Trainer’.
I would truly recommend this book (and her other 2), to anyone looking for a good laugh. ( )
