Josie Banks is a girl without a past. After being found unconscious with no memory, she was shuffled in and out of foster homes where she suffered years of abuse. An experience that left her broken, damaged, and clinging to drugs and meaningless hook-ups to numb her pain. When Josie disappeared years ago, she took a piece of Tristan with her. She's the girl he thought he lost forever - the one he's never been able to forget. Now a twist of fate has brought them back together again, and he never wants to let her out of his inked arms. But Tristan is haunted by a dark past of his own. On the run from ruthless criminals that shattered Josie's world years ago, reentering her life puts them both in grave danger. As Josie and Tristan's lives become tangled once again, they find themselves unwilling and unable to escape the relentless pull that draws them together. But will the past leave their love in ruins - or bind them together for a lifetime?… (altro)

This was a DNF for me. I just couldn't get into the story. ( )

Gritty, raw, emotional, poetic…..simply beautiful. This is not, and I must repeat, NOT your average love story mystery. Forget everything you know and think about the romance genre because Season Vining just threw it out the window!

Season managed to write real characters, flawed and emotional, so that you can feel the emotion, the raw pain, the isolation, despair and heartache. Yet she manages to show that the great power of love, one that changes a person to their core, one that carries for all time, even in the absence of a physical person, exists.

Both hunted, both haunted. Will there be a happily ever after? This one will keep you up all night turning pages to find out what happens next. Well done Season! I am excited to see what you come up with next!

5 Amazingly Devoted Stars!!!

Absolutely loved this book. Such a refreshing change from all the other books I have been reading. Josie Banks has a past that she cannot remember. After the death of her mom and then her father she has lost her memory. Due to the circumstances surrounding her fathers death she is placed in witness protection and shipped across the country. When one night she witnesses a young man have a breakdown in the alley by her apartment. When their worlds collide one night in a bar, Tristan will do whatever it takes to get her back. They grew up together and she was the one for Tristan. When she moved and then was declared dead, his world nearly ended. Tristan has not had an easy life either.

Born to a fairly well to do family, he has an uncanny ability to remember everything that he reads. When he meets a girl who ultimately leads him down the wrong path. When he has the chance to get away for the awful job that he is doing he takes it hoping that he will never be found.
Talk about a true love story and not giving up hope that maybe you can find some happiness in your life and bury the demons that have haunted you for so many years. Will Tristan be able to rescue Josie? Will he be able to help her remember? Will Josi be able to put all her trust in someone that she has no memory of? Amazing book! Highly recommend! ( )

An enjoyable read with lots of twists and turns...

The storyline was on the darker side with hints of romance. It was about a girl who is taken into witness protection and sent across the country with a new identity and a new name. She has amnesia and everyone from her previous life thinks she is dead. When she meets Tristan though her world turns upside down. He helps her to regain memory and open her eyes to a better life. Together they must trust in one another to face past demons and get their second chance at love.

I enjoyed this book, but didn't become addicted. I found myself losing interest at certain parts and at times I felt like I didn't want to continue reading. Yes, the story was enjoyable, but many parts seemed repeated or under done. I wish I could say this was an amazing read, but for me, it was just okay. The best part was the ending when everything came down to that one moment. It made my heart race and gave me that overwhelming good book feel. I wish I could have connected with the characters like that throughout the entire book, but I just didn't.

I still recommend this book to readers that like dark reads. The suspense is what kept me reading.

2.5-3 stars.

I was sick (still am a bit) the entire time I read this book. I was in a constant state of a Nyquil induced haze and that could be why I found this book so aggravating. Why it grated on my nerves and I struggled to finish it. Maybe if I read it again in the future I would feel differently, but at the moment I feel indifferent.

So anyways, while I sit here with my cup of herbal tea and Doctor Who on TV, I will attempt to convey my feelings for Beautiful Addictions. And as I can tell, the addiction part of this book was Josie’s terrible way she dealt with her past. I am not an advocate of drug use. EVER. And it hurt me that she killed the pain with it. (It’s a fuckin waste of money, that’s what it is). But when she meets Tristan, he became her addiction, and she became his. IT was indeed beautiful. I guess. Anyways. On with it.

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a POV in this book. No lie.

There are so many different perspectives to keep track of. However, I guess if we really didn’t have everyone’s view of things; the ending wouldn’t play out as it did. Which was predictable, to say the least. To say a little more would be that this story has been done before and I’m becoming bored with this tale.

The narration could have been done a tad more generously. There is no warning as to when we will be in someone else’s head. A sentence would be started within Tristian’s thoughts, but it would end with Monica’s. It was very scattered and very confusing for me.

The writing was nice. All the characters were very lyrical and poetic. I loved some of the things Tristan would say to Josie. It was a very emotional novel that kept me interested, until about halfway through. It became bulky and I lost interest easily, resulting in me skimming many pages.

I loved Alex! He was probably my favorite character, just outside of Monica.

Monica and Rob’s relationship was a thing out of an ABC Family original movie.

Tristan had a bit of an anger problem and he liked to butt heads with any dude who looked an eye towards Josie. He drove an Impala, which I can’t deny, is sexy.

Josie broke my heart. Her story was a sad one.

The past and the future of Josie and Tristan settles in Louisiana. I love reading books with my home state in them. Beautiful Addictions did it justice.

One very small thing that aggravated me (and I’m sure it was just me being weird) was Josie’s continuous need to mark up everything. I have nothing against art or graffiti, but damn, don’t disrespect people’s personal property. There is this part in the book where she is at a café with Tristan and she wants to tag her name on the chair. Dude, chairs aren’t cheap!

Beautiful Addictions is a good book if you’re looking to check out for a while. The background with Tristan and Josie is worth it alone.
