When 16 year old Kyra Lancaster is abducted in broad daylight in front of her school, she wakes up to find herself living a nightmare worse than she could ever have imagined. Told that she must perform every twisted wish of her captor's desire and be freed in 30 days, or suffer an additional day for each day she resists, Kyra faces an agonizing choice. Can she survive a month of torture? Should she fight? Can she trust that this monster will really let her go in a month? Even worse, would Kyra ever be able to pick up the pieces of a life so brutally shattered by one man's evil game?… (altro)

This teen pedo crime novel is written in first person from the perspective of the survivor. The author excels at making the distinction between the perpetrator’s and the survivor’s perspective in regard to the time they had spent together.
After the survivor is freed she raises the question of what is wrong with people? It is a question that goes unanswered. It does make one wonder what is wrong with our species that is produces such a significant portion of the people who fall under the umbrella of sadists? People who either enjoy or ignore the suffering of other people, animals, and the rest of nature, as well as those who entirely lack empathy. What is the state of our collective soul and what causes it to be that way? ... Book Review: 31 Days to Life By S.A. Cameron » Katarina Nolte

Warning, this book contains scenes of extremely humiliating sexual situations and is intended for adults only. I have to admit the first chapter confused me as to what I had signed up for -- but as the character development began I started to really care about the characters and wonder what would happen to them and how things would turn out. The author did a great job at using creativity to keep me interested and wanting more.

The subject matter, at times, was very difficult to read, due to the feelings it stirred from within me. All I can say about this book is that it is written at points in such heartbreaking detail, that it brings me to tears. The abuse that the character goes through is plain scary and makes my heart weep for all those kids who go through similar situations. This is an amazing book from an amazing writer.

Well written and I am looking forward to reading other books by S.A. Cameron.... I am now a fan! ( )
