This picture book is by Li Jian could tell the story just with the pictures. The pictures have so much detail and is very descriptive. In the story the little monkey had a keeper known as the Older monkey. One day the Older monkey is injured and the little monkey is determined to save him. The story describes the little monkey’s courageousness to save his keeper and become a hero. The book uses a lot of inner and outer dialogue to express what is going on through the monkey’s journey. This book is not only written in English it is also translated in Chinese. This would be a great book for any English language learner in a classroom or even out of a classroom. The story continues through with the little monkey become strong and learning new powers that will help him save the older monkey. The story continues with the monkey journeying across the ocean and back to save the older monkey. I would recommend reading this book for a fun journey of a baby monkey. ( )
