This is the second book in the Children of Hathor series, but it's been long enough since I read the first one that I can safely say that it's not absolutely essential to read that one to enjoy this one. All you really need to know is that American middle-schooler Jason and his friends Amelia and Kevin were abducted by aliens, and Jason became the holder of a powerful talisman. In this book they are once again spirited away into the realm of galactic politics and long-lost talismans, but as the situation worsens and the galaxy plunges toward war, Jason starts to doubt his so-called allies. Is he being told the truth? Whose side is right? It's a grand sci-fi adventure, full of memorable aliens and fast-paced action. I look forward to seeing how Jason's story pans out. Reading Review called The Talisman of Elam, the first book in Jim Mastro's epic trilogy, ..".a masterpiece of science fiction." In this exciting sequel, Jason Hunter and his friends are abducted in broad daylight and whisked away to a secret meeting on a frozen planet. There, they learn the ancient talisman of Thoth has been found. It's in a part of the galaxy that is off-limits-and generally deadly- to humans, but the inhabitants have demanded that humans come and remove it. Oruq, the Thothian leader, is on his way to do exactly that. Once he possesses it, he will plunge the galaxy into war. Because he wants revenge, Earth will be his first target. He will come after Jason. To stop this from happening, Jason must beat him to the talisman. But this time he can't claim it. Instead, he's going to do something much more dangerous. He's going to steal it. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
