Summary:
This book is basically a traditional retelling of the story the three little kittens. The creative colorful illustrations make this a very cute book. This is a sweet recreation of a classic nursery rhyme.

Personal Reaction:
I really enjoyed this little book. The artwork was great and original. The illustrations add a lot to the retelling of the story. This would be a great book for pre-K and kindergarden classrooms.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. This would be a great take home reading book for children who are first starting to read. With its easy words and repetition, the three little kittens would be a great confidence boosting book for young readers.

2. The art work looks like it was made from cut out tissue paper. That would be a fun art project for students to use tissue paper shapes to create their own kittens. ( )

Summary: This story is about three little kittens that lost their mittens and because they lost them, they didn't get to have any pie, so they went to find them so they could have some pie after they found the pie that the mice had hid.
Personal Reaction: My reaction to this story would be that so people do lose stuff and when they lost it sometimes they can't find it. Until they went and looked for them.
Classroom Extension Idea: 1. This story would be a good example of like a scavenger hunt, just looking for random things. 2. This story is also a good example of how kids react to when they lose something and they tell their parents and then they can't have something until they find that certain item. ( )

This book is about three little kittens that lost their mittens. They cry and get upset about losing them and because their mother gets upset with them and they get punished. At the end of the story they found their mittens and finally get their reward.

When I was little if I would lose something, I would get punished, or not get something I wanted, for losing it. It was up to me to keep up with it. So I can relate to this book because I too, would get punished for losing things.

I would use this book in a classroom to show students how important it is to keep up with our belongings and how we should not be losing the things our parents buy us. And how you can get in trouble or make your parents upset if you lose things.

Three Little Kittens by Lorianne Siomades is a picture book. The book is a nursery rhyme. There are three kittens that lose their mittens. They search until they find them, then they find them. In the end they get their pie.

The pictures in the book tell the story. I like how there is big print on the pages and few words. The pages are very colorful, the kitten and mitten are different colors. I think a cute idea for the book would be to have a twist to the story.

I would use this book with pre-k through 1st grade. This book would be great with shared reading. I would talk about how kitten and mitten rhyme. We would discuss what a mitten is. We would discuss how it feels to lose things then find them. For the younger grade, we would make our own mitten. ( )

This book was about three kittens who lost there mittens and there mother told them that they could not eat any pie if they didn't find them. The three kittens searched high and low for them until they finally found them.

The pictures are very bright and fun. The three kittens are all different colors and not "normal" colors for cats. They were blue, orange and one was pink and the mother was purple. There were two little mice in each picture as well helping the kittens look for their mittens. Each mouse was red. They all looked outside, under watering cans, rocks and even used magnigying glasses to look for the mittens. I thought it was a cute book.

For my classroom extension I would ask my students if they had ever lost anything and where they had found it. I would explain to them what a magnifying glass is and what it is used for.
