There were a few things I missed out on knowing since I haven't read any of the rest of the series but the story was well-put-together and I never felt lost. I very much enjoyed the cat-and-mouse between Eliana and Demetrius. Eliana is fierce but still manages to "feel" like a connectable female lead with her vulnerability.

I also liked Demetrius looking nothing like the atypical runofthemill pretty boy heroes that we have all read. Not that he doesn't sound absolutely dreamy but how rare is it to have a giant tattooed pierced lead? Niiiiice. ( )

I got this book as an early reviewers. I could hardly put this book down. The characters are well developed. It is part of the Night Prowlers series, however, you do not need to read the other books to understand this book. I didn't know it was a part of a series until I was almost done with it. I would encourage anyone to read this! (although there are some sex scenes) ( )

Rapture’s Edge continues with the Night Prowler story of Eliana and Demetrius. Book two, Edge of Oblivion, ended with Eliana wrongly believing that her beloved Demetrius killed her father. Unknown to Eliana, her father was an evil man whom the world was better without.

Eliana is no longer the naive and innocent princess from book two. She has become a fighter after the three years of exile following her father’s death. Despite wanting vengeance for her father’s demise, she continues to have a good heart. She does what she has to in order to help her people, even if it includes burglary. Luck finally ends for Eliana when she is captured after trying to burglarize the Louvre in Paris.

After three years, Demetrius is still in love with Eliana. Like many Ikati, the race of panther shifters, he is gifted. His talent is to see the future. His visions have never been wrong. He has been haunted by nightmares of Eliana being terribly hurt. Now looking up at the television, he sees his prophecy has finally become a reality, Eliana has been captured. She has been ousted on international television. He needs to get to her before the Queen sends her assassins to retrieve her. The question is will she put her trust in the man she thinks killed her father.

I love this series! Each story while keeping with the theme is fresh and original. J. T. Geissinger is a gifted writer and story teller. If you love paranormal romance and shape shifters, the Night Prowler series is a must.

After adoring the first two books of this series, I had Rapture's Edge on Kindle Pre-Order and started it the day after release...

Starting 3 years after the ending of Edge of Oblivion, Book #2, Rapture's Edge focuses on 2 characters that I was absolutely in love with in the 2nd installment - Demetrius (D), a former enforcer for the King, and Eliana, the displaced princess of the European Ikati tribe.

At the end of Edge of Oblivion there were some major events that led to a heartbreaking misunderstanding and forced Demetrius and Eliana apart. In Rapture's Edge, Eliana is in hiding with her people - primarily her sadistic & presumed useless brother and his deceitful and conniving right hand man - and she's the primary bread winner for the colony by becoming an infamous cat burglar and fighting in underground fightclubs. Unfortunately, her cover gets blown and the human organization that her people are trying to hide from, as well as an Assassin sub-division of the Ikati, pick up her trail. Demetrius does as well...

After searching for Eliana for 3 years, Demetrius doesn't wait a second to go after her once he finds out where she is despite the protests of his brothers. He's never stopped loving her and is determined to protect her from whatever comes her way. He also knows he'll need to do some explaining given the abruptness of their parting and the events preceding it.

Rapture's Edge is an emotional roller-coaster. You want to slap Eliana (but only because you know things she doesn't), you ache for Demetrius and his plight of being caught between a rock and a hard place, you yearn for the two to get together - FINALLY! - and you loathe everyone that tries to keep them apart.

Outside of the incredible heart of the story, there was plenty of action, some amazing romance, and like Edge of Oblivion, an ending that was chock full of mystery & surprise and will make you want the next book immediately without feeling like you were left totally hanging.

I give Rapture's Edge 4 1/2 Skulls and am definitely looking forward to the next installment of the NIGHT PROWLER series! ( )
