This book portrayed an image that not everyones neighborhood is the same, but that people can always come together for special times such as the parade. She is able to see different things happen everyday as she does different things like walk to school or come home for lunch. We all live in a different area and have different things we see daily. ( ) this story is about a little girl in Portugal who describes her daily life and how f her neighborhood spends their day.She goes to the park and to the market. She has her day planned out. This book puts into perspective how society works and how many different activities take place at the same time in same society. A good book about Lucia. Lucia is an ordinary girl fortunate to have her grandmother living. With age, comes wisdom. Lucia's grandmother converses with her about a woman named Jane Jacobs who would talk about neighborhoods. Lucia likes to oversee the things that happen in her neighborhood. She looks at the environment, the designs on her neighbor's yard, what the people around her are doing, and the conversations that happen around her neighborhood. This book most definitely encourages me to love my neighborhood more and take the role of Lucia who is on a mission. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Inspired by urban visionary Jane Jacobs, seven-year-old Lucia takes the reader through a day in her neighborhood and celebrates the people and places that make it feel like home. A great starting point for discussions on cities, this book will encourage readers to stop and smell the urban roses. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
