I was certainly attracted to the cover and picked up this e-book on my Kindle. While Genetics and Cloning aren't necessarily my forte, I read the Goodreads descriptive blurb and picked it up. I'm glad I did. It's a well written, fast paced and entertaining story. The characters were well developed, and I loved the romantic tension between Lexi and Jack. Lexi had some trust issues but she's strong and Jack even more so. It will be interesting to see the full gamut of their powers develop in the future stories in this series. Jack Murphy Lexi is surrounded by secrets. Attending a boarding school where no one really knows anyone else (like the fact that she's is the daughter of a famed geneticist), Lexi meets someone new - and he's made it clear that he's very interested in her. Then her father is killed, leaving her with a ton of questions that no one seems to want to answer. His last communication with her indicated he had some journals, and everyone wants them. Can Lexi unravel the mysteries that surround her father's death and the contents of those journals? And can she trust the cute boy who seems to hold all the answers but won't divulge? I found this story completely addictive. The romance, the mystery, the supernatural powers. No one is who they seem to be, and danger lurks around every corner. I'm not generally interested in series, but I really want to finish this one. Definitely recommended for anyone, but particularly for anyone who liked Twilight - or wanted something with a little more substance. Seven cloned embryos become teens. As if being a teenager wasn't enough they have strange powers. Some know parts of their history, others are just learning as the Program tries to induct them. What they thought was a wonderful, advanced medical program becomes a jail. They are to be trained to use their mind powers to the Program's advantage. Some have the ability to heal physical illness, others emotional problems, some mind control etc. Lexi is the main character, Jack her romantic lead. Jack knows a lot that he keeps from her. No matter how many times he is caught, he doesn't learn. Lexi is way too whinny, makes bad decisions which cause more problems and never seems to understand anything. None of the characters are very likeable It was a fun premise but way to much of the book was spent revealing secrets. It ends rather abruptly in a cliffhanger. The book was just OK if you want a quick read. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
