This is a great resource for ALL teachers, not just teachers of gifted students. I appreciated the short description provided with each link. It could have been organized a little bit better, but useful just the same. ( )

As the title suggests, this book exists to serve as a guide to internet resources useful in the education of gifted students. Many of the resources listed have been around awhile and will be familiar to most web-savvy teachers, but the book does provide a nice reminder of the most useful sites along with a helpful annotation. The most functional section was the Lesson Planning Resources where sites were organized by subject area. The book is a good reminder of available resources and is nicely organized, but educators already regularly using the web in education are not likely to find many new ideas or resources. ( )

This book is a compilation of websites and resources for use with the gifted student. As many have said, it's very basic and I was already familiar with many of the resources. There was nothing outstanding, but it was interesting to look through. If this book wasn't sent to me, I probably wouldn't purchase it myself. ( )

The first chapter reads like an introductory guide for those who've never seen the internet before mixed in with web safety PSAs.

The collection of resources is logically organized and interesting, though nothing you shouldn't get from professional development, CIAs, and, you know, talking to people.

It would be nice if each resource indicated whether it was free or a paid subscription (it did for a few, but I recognized several that have expensive licensing fees).

Little more than a pamphlet on a few internet resources and suggestions. ( )

This is a great tool for teachers who work with academically talented students. There are a TON of useful websites that extend student thinking, differentiate instruction, and help students learn how to research about their interests. This is user-friendly and, if used properly, can bring technology into the classroom in order to enhance learning! ( )
