The book is a large hardcover, leaving lots of room for two-page spreads to showcase Concorde in all its glory. Directional arrows make it clear which captions refer to which photos, and all photos are credited in their captions. The text is succinct and informative, and overall it was a great book. The only quibble I have (and this is something that comes up in other aviation books, not just this one) is that if a photograph is of an instrument panel and the caption is discussing a specific instrument, that instrument should be circled on the panel so that the uninitiated reader can find it more easily. But overall, this was a good book and I’d recommend it. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Concorde is the world's most famous passenger transport aircraft and an icon of 20th century design. When British Airways and Air France withdrew their Concordes from revenue service in 2003 it marked the end of a unique era in supersonic air travel. In this full-color tribute to Concorde, Jonathan Falconer has scoured private collections, company archives and picture libraries to bring together a stunning selection of photographs portraying Concorde, from its ground-breaking first flights in 1969, through the glory days with British Airways and Air France, to its swansong in 2003. Many of these photographs are previously unpublished. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
