A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy! In tight quarters, anything can happen... Fresh off a six-month deployment, Navy SEAL Cash McCoy is determined to end his celibacy streak with a night of down and dirty sex. Instead, he gets an interrupted hook-up with a hot blonde, who vanishes without a way for him to contact her. When he's asked to keep an eye on-and hands off-his CO's sister for a few weeks to guard her from a psycho-stalker ex, Cash accepts the assignment as a distraction... and gets the surprise of his life. Jen Scott knows she needs protection, but she's not looking forward to being babysat by some straight-laced yes-man her overprotective brother can boss around. Finding out her new roomie is none other than the sexy stranger who was seconds away from shaking her world apart changes everything. Orders be damned, Cash is the one man capable of helping her explore her sexuality, and she's even willing to break her own rule- never date military men- to get the gorgeous SEAL into her bed. Only, Cash makes it clear he wants much more than she bargained for. Not just her body, but the one thing Jen promised herself she'd never give to a man in uniform. Her heart. Warning: Sexy SEAL? Check. Sassy heroine determined to seduce him? Check. Scorching hot sex bound to make you blush? Double check. A threesome? Triple check. You've been warned.… (altro)

Cash McCoy is tired of hearing the loud sex going on in the next room of his apartment, but when he goes out looking for some of his own, he meets Jen, who turns out to be the sister of Carson, his SEAL unit lieutenant. When Carson has to go away for a few days, he asks Cash to look after his sister, not knowing that they've already met and have a strong attraction for one another. Jen's ex has been stalking her, so she accepts the offer to stay with Cash, but she has plans of her own, even though Carson has told Cash to keep his hands off his sister. Jen doesn't believe in the "bro code" and does everything she can to get Cash in her bed.

Feeling Hot gives me the same vibes as the two books I read from Elle Kennedy's Off Campus series, except instead of hockey players, the men are SEALs. Many of the conflicts are dealt with in a superficial way because so much time is spent building the sex scenes, which are very well constructed and very steamy, but they don't offer much in the way of plot or character development. The subplots about Jen's career as a photographer and her strained relationship with her parents are barely touched on even though they had great potential. Overall, Feeling Hot is a very erotic romance without much substance. ( )

I picked Feeling Hot up because Elle Kennedy gets a lot of high graded reviews over at Dear Author, and I always enjoy a good character driven contemporary without a suspense plot.

I tend to be reluctant where SEAL or military romances are concerned, as I imagine that a relationship where one partner is away every other year for several months and more or less constantly on call, might prove to be difficult, especially if the rearing of children is involved. However, Ms. Kennedy must really be given credit for how she dealt with that particular subject, there was definitely no sugarcoating in the novel.

Because of this I was quite reluctant to enjoy the novel but it couldn't be helped, I did so nevertheless, albeit a bit reluctantly LOL. In my estimation Feeling Hot needs to be approached with the right mind set. It's quite fluffy, but every now and then I do like me some cotton candy and fluff and for that I will keep this author in mind. B ( )

I don't even remember how I first ran across the "Out of Uniform" series (aka - "The Hot Series" - 'cause they all have some version of "HOT" in their title). It's a series based on the men in a Navy SEALS team - and not only is the weather hot by the base & beach, it's hot on the pages of the stories! It's always fun to "catch up" with couples from the prior books; in this one, we find out how Becker is handling being a father. (TOO FUNNY!) There is also some tension between Carson & Holly and a realistic portrayal of what military couples go through with readjustment after deployments - whether they be short or long.

Feeling Hot (Out of Uniform), by Elle Kennedy, is the 7th entry in the "Out of Uniform" series. Cash and Jen have a hot encounter in a coatroom while both are ducking stalkers... but when he leaves with her number it gets washed away in the rain. A few days later his Lieutenant asks his help in providing protection to his younger sister who is being stalked... and suddenly, Cash & Jen are roommates. Jen has always sworn off military men after seeing how her Mom was affected by her Dad's absences, and now with her brother's (Carson) issues with his marriage, she's really leery of getting involved with a SEAL. However, Cash IS just the man to give her the down & dirty type of sex she's always dreamed of... including a menage and voyeurism of some m/m action.

One of these days I'm going to have to go back & read the books in order; in the meantime, I'll be waiting for the July release of Hotter Than Ever (Out of Uniform)!! ( )

A cute story, though it seems the land is populated by former couples with just about the same HEA. I really enjoyed Cash and Jen, but I don't think I have any need to read about the rest of the SEALS... except maybe Dylan. There's a boy who deserves some HEA of his own.

10/31/12 - Not quite a "re-read", I came back just for that first scene between Cash and Dylan. Wow, still incredibly hot. I like the interplay between them a lot more than the usual "menages are normal" romance trope. This little flash of passionate interaction really makes this story stand out. ( )

Oh, yeah! This book was great. One of my favorite plots in this series.

Cash tries so hard to resist Jen because he knows her older brother Carson will drown him if he ever lays a hand on her. We know that won’t last long though.

There were some wicked scene that all I could do was stutter after reading them. This book does not disappoint.

And one of the best parts was that Kennedy wrote in the other characters from the series so that you, as the reader, knew what was going on in their lives as well.
