Breasts & Eggs paints a portrait of contemporary womanhood in Japan and recounts the intimate journeys of three women as they confront oppressive mores and their own uncertainties on the road to finding peace and futures they can truly call their own. It tells the story of three women: the thirty-year-old Natsu, her older sister, Makiko, and Makiko's daughter, Midoriko. Makiko has traveled to Tokyo in search of an affordable breast enhancement procedure. She is accompanied by Midoriko, who has recently grown silent, finding herself unable to voice the vague yet overwhelming pressures associated with growing up. Avevo grandi aspettative su questo libro avendone letto ottime recensioni. E invece mi ha deluso. Si tratta in realtà di due libri che l’editore italiano ha accorpato. Il primo è incentrato su una donna che intende rifarsi il seno, il secondo sulla fecondazione assistita. Non sono andata oltre il primo e nemmeno l’ho finito. Dopo cento pagine di discorsi sui seni e le loro fattezze ho abbandonato la presa. Per me può bastare così. ( )

This work is for the expanded novel and its translations, and in particular the English language edition of Breasts and Eggs.
Please distinguish between the two following works when combining different language editions, since there are two books which share the same title in translation: 1. 乳と卵 [Chichi to ran], ~100 page novella originally published in 2008. 2. 夏物語 [Natsu monogatari], ~400 page expanded and rewritten version originally published in 2019, and published in English in 2020 under the title "Breasts and Eggs".
