Politics. Nonfiction. Humor (Nonfiction.) HTML:Book store nation, in the history of mankind there has never been a greater country than America . You could say we're the #1 nation at being the best at greatness. But as perfect as America is in every single way, America is broken! And we can't exchange it because we're 236 years past the 30-day return window. Look around—we don't make anything anymore, we've mortgaged our future to China, and the Apologist-in-Chief goes on world tours just to bow before foreign leaders. Worse, the L.A. Four Seasons Hotel doesn't even have a dedicated phone button for the Spa. You have to dial an extension! Where did we lose our way?! It's high time we restored America to the greatness it never lost! Luckily, AMERICA AGAIN will singlebookedly pull this country back from the brink. It features everything from chapters, to page numbers, to fonts. Covering subject's ranging from healthcare ("I shudder to think where we'd be without the wide variety of prescription drugs to treat our maladies, such as think-shuddering") to the economy ("Life is giving us lemons, and we're shipping them to the Chinese to make our lemon-flavored leadonade") to food ("Feel free to deep fry this book-it's a rich source of fiber"), Stephen gives America the dose of truth it needs to get back on track.… (altro)

A bit better than the previous one, but again, the main problem with this book, as with the previous one, is that Colbert just tries a bit too hard. At times, the joke just gets stretched a bit too far. Having said that, the book does have some funny moments, and when you get one, it's good. But there is a lot of filler along the way as well. In some ways, reading this is like looking over an episode or two of his show, which may be a good thing or not. I honestly wonder if listening to it as an audiobook, which I understand he narrates, might make a difference. At any rate, hardcore fans of the Colbert Nation will probably like it a lot. More casual fans may skim and read parts, then wait to watch the show. It's a decent riff on all those pundit books out there. ( )

This book was so much funnier than the first one. The one liners and section commentary/tones just hit so much harder. I really loved the graphs and little "inserts" in this one. They just kept getting funnier. My favorite had to be the state "food map" found in the last chapter. Everything listed there actually had me laughing out loud. My state was 100% accurate too. ( )

Feels like an addendum to [b:I am America|611298|I am America (And So Can You!)|Stephen Colbert|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1344263365s/611298.jpg|2884260] with relevant topics of the last four years (Healthcare! The Housing Crash! Fracking!) with more pictures (I can't remember if IaA had copious amounts of pictures; it's been a while). 3D glasses didn't add much except for the chapter title photos... and even then, the non-3D version was on the flip side (cute gimmick, though).

Some scientists think we could get our energy from tidal power.  They argue that ocean tides are more reliable than wind or sunlight.  Oh, really?!!  I for one do not want to count on something that gets high twice a day.
