This is a very interesting and useful discussion of a Quaker approach to "professional" work. She declares that Friends need an approach to professionalism that values real authority, service, and empathy, and addresses Friends' concerns about power, detachment, and specialization. She describes her own approach to her work as a doctor, and the support, discernment, and oversight that she needs.
