Interesting... Kinda. Weird. But cute? And depressing. Obviously, I have some mixed feelings about this one, but the shorter story format worked and I didn't feel shorted like I sometimes do at the end of a novelette. ( )

This was angst ridden-ly good. This was a poignant short story of two like souls finding each other. We meet Eve, a sheltered, naive, nineteen year old who is not allowed at all to have a life. Her father rules her under his thumb and she accepted it. She glances a punk" guy, Van, making a little illegal transaction over her backyard fence and is intrigued.

You can see where the story is going...can't you? I adored both characters. There are barely any typos, the author has a knack with her words. She had her characters react and talk like every day life.

I couldn't put this book down and read it one sitting.

My one gripe is her father...we barely saw how evil he really was. also the way her father reacted in the last chapter...it just left a sour taste in my mouth. It was not where I though he would go.

Other than that, I enjoyed Van. He was so sweet and just...he will make you melt." ( )

This book is portraying what erotica should really be like. The characters are believable the story intense, hot and heavy at the same time. Very nice read. ( )

Evie is abused by her overbearing father, repressed and not allowed to interact with the outside world unless it involves religious activities. But she never came across as a cowered or someone to feel sorry for. She meets Van across he back yard fence, and he is scary looking and so different. I loved Evie and Van together. Evie may have been the virgin but she knew what she wanted and she kept pushing Van, who kept resisting because he wanted to know Evie as a person and not pressure her for sex. As always the sex was steamy and deliciously writen. ( )

The story is very touching. And sadly, probably happen all the time in some variation. The writing (maybe because it's an early novel) left much to be desired. And the grammatical errors pissed even me off.

All in all, not a bad story. Could be improved with some serious proofreading. ( )
