( ) The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: Paranormal, by David Borgenicht and Ben H. Winters, is a quite funny book, one of an apparently endless series that purports to tell readers exactly what to do (and what not to do) in a given situation where one's survival is at stake. This particular book tells us how to get rid of a ghost, how to catch a unicorn and how to adjust oneself to becoming a werewolf (or to dating one), among many other possible scenarios. It's very silly, but the nice thing about it is the authors treat each topic as if it were an entirely reasonable situation in which a person might find herself. The publisher, Chronicle Books, also has a series of almanacs and pocket guides; I think I'm going to try to find the one entitled The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Pocket Guide: San Francisco, just to see how they treat my old home town! Recommended for whiling away a lazy hour or two. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
