dini dinosaur is a book for smaller kids. it is also a book for little kids to want to be little Dini. it is a cute book with a bunch of nice pictures for the children to pay attention to. smaller kids will love Dini. ( )

The pictures are fantastic and this is a great concept books for clothing. Yet I would not choose it as a read aloud for any child over 2. The primary reason being that most children will be confused by the fact that the mother didn't take Dini's clothes all the way off after the first mishap.

I know this may seem like a minor thing, but it can really throw off the dynamic of a storytime or even an individual read aloud.

The explanation you might try to give would cause more confusion than the original story. ( )

It's time for Dini Dinosaur to go to bed, and he's all dirty from playing in the mud. Silly Dini is so eager to start his bath that he keeps forgetting to take off various items of clothes and must keep returning to the bath at his mother's urging. Older preschoolers and younger elementary schoolers will enjoy the repetition of Scrub-a-dub-dub! throughout the story and want to yell it out each time it appears. Their energy levels will be brought down, however, as Dini's mother prepares him for bed, making it a good picture book for calming children down during story time or just before bed. ( )
