I would use this book as a reference book for older kids, such as middle school and high school grades. This book is good for older students because it has a lot of information in it, the vocabulary is very mature, and the content it describes is very mature. I would use it as a reference book because it has a lot of information in it, and would be too long for a read-aloud or independent read.

Once again Russell Freedman has taken a subject and has capitived the audience with his great choice of words and expressions. Russell explains the pains and joys that took place in FDR's life. He does a great service to us for explaining in detail the events of our nation during the four terms in office. ( )
