Juvenile Fiction. Juvenile Literature. Meet Felicity Merriman, a nine-year-old girl who's as spirited and independent as the American colonies she lives in. In 1774, Felicity's hometown of Williamsburg, Virginia, is buzzing with rumors: will the colonies soon break free from England's rule? Patriots like Felicity's father don't think it's fair to pay taxes to the King of England for things like tea that they buy in America. Loyalists like Felicity's grandfather and her best friend Elizabeth support the king. With fiercely conflicting loyalties dividing family and friends, something as simple as a cup of tea could change Felicity's world forever. Can she find the courage to stand strong for her own beliefs-even if it might mean losing her best friend? Six best-selling Felicity stories are included in this set: Meet Felicity, Felicity Learns a Lesson, Felicity's Surprise, Happy Birthday, Felicity!, Felicity Saves the Day, and Changes for Felicity. Watch these stories come to life on screen in Felicity: An American Girl Adventure, a full-length live-action movie. Felicity's story collection. Felicity Merman is growing up at a time of fierce loyalty and fiery independence, just as America is about to break free from England's rule. All around her, family and friends are taking different sides. With compassion and courage, Felicity must find a way to hold both love and loyalty in her heart. ( )

Between May and June of 2010, I read every American Girl book there is, including the mystery series. The Felicty collection is the best told. The Rebecca collection is the best illustrated (Samantha second best).

Felicty was born in the Colonial times, when the Revolutionary war starts. She loves horses, and she isn't the best at being lady-like. Neither am I. Felicty's best friend is Anna, and she is loyal to the king, but Felicty is a patriot. But they're still best friends.

In general, these books are worth reading because they're about girls, they're exciting, and they take place in history. I started with the book set in the earliest time, Kaya, and ended with Julie, who lived in 1974. I would recommend reading sequentially because I knew less about the distant past, so starting there was most interesting and helped me better understanding the later books.

This is an awesome series of a girl named Felicity Merriman growing up during the American Revolution. Felicity's family is torned by war. Her grandfather is a faithful Loyalist, while her father and her father's helper Ben, who is one of Felicity's friends, are daring Patriots. Felicity's best friend Elizabeth is a Loyalist, so they must try to keep their friendship alive in the troubled times. Overall, this is a fantastic series! ( )

"Felicity's Story Collection" and "Felicity: An American Girl" are both collections of the 6 primary Felicity stories. However, the "Story Collection" is a single hardbound format that is missing the final "Looking Back" chapters of 5 books, while "Felicity: An American Girl" is a boxed set with 6 individual books. Please do not combine these!
