I must have missed what the 4 and 5 star reviews liked out of this book. I think what weirded me out was despite the fact that there was not a whole lot of sex I still felt the hero was sexually loose. Which, in itself does not reduce the star value, but it does reduce my enjoyment of the character.

I really feel like the author could have described the relationship of the mother better. I think we were supposed to hate her? But then she would do something nice that I guess was supposed to make us think she had layers; it just made me think the author was lazy.

I will say that I enjoyed the water scene and I loved any scenes when we got him as an animal. But even that could not bump my overall enjoyment up. I rounded up, but really this felt like a 2.5 score. (

Loved it. Hopefully there will be more about Seiran's adventures. Can't wait to find out. (

I’ve been waiting for Inheritance since Lissa posted [b:Consequences|11550554|Consequences|Lissa Kasey|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1307315352s/11550554.jpg|16490481], and I have to say it was even better than I had expected. There was suspense, magic, and absolutely wonderful characters. The world is wonderfully detailed, without becoming bogged down with too much extraneous information. Seiran is such a flawed character, but those flaws are what make him so interesting. Gabe is the perfect counterpoint, so supportive and caring.

I can’t wait to read the next book.
