Wolfe's "Megan Has to Move" has a lot on her mind. She worries, like all kids, that she won't like her new home. This mid-level reader (conveniently stamped with a color-coordinated level by Read-it! Readers) walks the audience through all of the changes that might occur during a move. New house, new neighbors, new school and new friends are all going to be a part of Megan's new world and Wolfe's description of Megan's missing her "old" life and being sad about the upcoming change will ring true with small children reading this book and facing a move (or any big transition!) of their own. Illustrated colorfully in bright, blocky shapes by Patrick Kouse, the pictures might do better to include one or two extra smiles from Megan's parents (especially Mom) before the move. It might help readers really believe on page 13 when "[Megan's] mom and dad tell her everything will be OK." The drawings of moving boxes, "for sale" signs, and maps will prepare younger movers for the new items and unfamiliar elements that will present themselves during relocation. One or two more pages illustrating and describing packing and unpacking could have helped further. All in all, a helpful guide for little children facing their first (or even second or third!) move. Recommended for children between 6-8. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
