I received this book for Early Reviewers, and honestly, I have been trying to get into this book for months now. I am a reader of YA/Teen and Juvenile literature, but this book just couldn't get me very interested. ( )

I received this book through a Librarything.com giveaway. This is a story about 3 high school girls who are geeks. They have some bad experiences trying to fit in with the popular crowds, and coming to come to terms with who they are. The writing could use some tweeking. Some issues are introduced, and dropped with no resolution. Often, the time and place switch with no warning. Even an extra double space between paragraphs would have helped.

A typical book about being in high school. Kali and her friends, Roxanne and Phillipa, deal with popularity, self-esteem, peer pressure, and the nature of friendship. ( )

I enjoyed the story, but at times felt that it had too many plot points to follow along with everything. A few less points so that things could be more flushed out would be nice. A good younger YA title although there is a drinking scene. Overall I think 7th and 8th graders would like it. ( )

This is... cute. The writing is fairly fun - typical for the genre, but without trying as hard as many do to use "cool" words and phrases.

It touches on some issues that could be relevant, but the treatment is so brief and so vague that it's almost not worth it. The characters were not quite fully developed, but there were hints of how interesting they could be, were the book about twice as long.

That said, it's enjoyable and age appropriate.
