In 1958 Brazil had two secret weapons they played a new 4-2-4 formation and they had a brilliant teenage player his name was Pele. In 1962, other teams tried to beat the Brazilians by fouling Pele was kicked a lot he didn't finish the World Cup but Brazil still won they beat Czechoslovakia 3-1 in the final. In 1966 the World Cup came home to the birthplace of football. England had beaten West Germany 4-2 and England was World Champions. For the next 20 years the World Cup was dominated by four countries three from Europe and one from South America. In 1994 Brazil beat Italy on penalties; it was the fourth time they had won the World Cup in 1994 Brazil beat Italy on penalties. It was the fourth time they had won the World Cup. In 1998 they reached the final again but they had to play France. They had invented the World Cup Now they were World Champions. The 2002 World Cup was played in two countries, half the games were played in Japan and the other half of the game were played in South Korea. In 2006 the World Cup was held in Germany. These days over 150 countries take part and mort than a billion people watch it on TV. Football is still the beautiful game and the World Cup is still the greatest sporting event in the world.
