This book uses mostly illustrations and few words to tell the story of what you see and hear when you're on a train. Age: Primary Genre: Poetry Media: Pastels Review: This book is poetry because it uses rhyming to describe a journey on a train. It emphasizes sounds and uses onomatopoeia to do so. It creates imagery and uses illustrations to match that imagery. Use: read to enjoy, lesson on rhyming, learning about travel/trains This is a good book for primary students. The genre of this book is poetry. It is poetry because there is rhyme and rhythm that goes on throughout the story, similar to the rhythm and sound a train on the tracks would make. There are no main characters in the book, but only people who are unspecified. The setting of this book is all over the world. There are mountains, cities, country, and valleys. All help to show that trains can travel just about anywhere. This represents Realistic Fiction because it is true to life and it helps students understand a little more about our world. The circumstance of someone riding on a train is something that happens regularly and could even have been an experience for some of the students in the classroom. What also makes this a Realistic Fiction book is the variety of people present that are all unique. The setting of this story fits well with the plot. The plot is centered around a train ride and as the ride happens they pass a variety of places, all of which are included in the setting. The media used in this story is charcoal. This book is best for the Primary Level. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
