Pretty reasonable, but I didn't have the chance to rewatch the episodes to confirm details of changes. Still, enjoyable as all Blishes! Star Trek 12 contains the last 5 stories, from all three seasons of the show, that Blish wrote, at least in part. The book was finished by J.A. Lawrence after Blish's death. Continuing reading the stories in order through all 12 books in 2020, this is the 5th book I finished, with the 3rd season story "And the Children Shall Lead". The Appendices in book 12 are how I found the stories as I read through them. The book series goes out on a high note with "The Corbomite Maneuver" and "Shore Leave", two good episodes. Like some previous stories, "And the Children Shall Lead" was hurt by the decision to not include scenes that the audience saw but the crew technically did not, when the children are controlling the crew and summoning the "friendly angel". Combining the dialog from the scene where they first talk with the Gorgon in a cabin and he gives them their orders with the scene where they summon him on the bridge and everyone else sees him, doesn't make any sense, because they've already made the crew redirect the ship to Marcos 12. Once you've read a couple of the Blish Star Trek stories, you know what to expect. There are two things different about this one. One, Blish died in the middle of doing it and his wife finished it. Two, it's got two helpful appendices which give you the original writer of the script, the original season it aired, and the book that contains the Blish adaptation of that script. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
