Javan Rhodes is captain of a spaceship transporting a beautiful woman named Sola to her wedding across the galaxy. He’s heard of these arranged marriages and tries to mind his own business despite the temptation the woman offers. Her desire to learn about his ship and his wartime history draw Javan to her, but he isn’t prepared when Sola completely turns the tables on him. She’s not a political pawn like he’s been led to believe but a savvy player in a galactic-wide game. Her devious schemes involve her true identity, the evil dictator in power, and allies as untrustworthy as Javan’s enemies. Soon they’re fleeing people out to kill them both, and what he considered initially to be a milk run becomes a desperate flight to deliver this woman to her destiny. (

Couldn't get into it. The ship captain in lust with doomed ingenue thing is kind of squicking me out. Didn't read enough to feel comfortable rating it.

Just the right touch of world-building, and a tightly-written plot and appealing characters made for a great read. (
