The book “That’s Hockey,” reminded me of myself as a kid, which is why it was so heartwarming. The plot of this story is my favorite because it follows two young boys who play the game of hockey for fun, without any rules, equipment, or winners. I remember being a kid and playing outside all day until dark. Whether it is was soccer, basketball, wiffle ball, or kickball, all the neighborhood kids would play with our own “street rules” just as ET and his cousin did. This story is also amusing when “Tooth” is introduced—since Tooth is the goalie that is missing his front teeth. Also, the writing is both relatable and engaging to the reader. The text described how much fun the boys were having, specifically stating, “We played for hours, maybe days. Who knew?” I think most children can easily relate to losing track of time because they’re having too much fun. All in all, the overall message of this story has more to do with having a fun day in the snow, rather than with winning or losing. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

When Etienne takes his cousin out to play street hockey for the first time, he has a lot of explaining to do. Street hockey is nothing like ice hockey. Everyone has to wear a No. 9 Canadiens hockey sweater, but beyond that, the game has more to do with a fun day in the snow than with winning or losing. Etienne's cousin comes away with a talisman and a story worth passing on. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
