A handy little book on the geology of the Utah National Parks, plus Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (doesn’t mention National Monuments, so you’ll have to go elsewhere for Grand Staircase Escalante, Cedar Breaks, Natural Bridges or Bear’s Ears). Extensive color pictures explain various geological features – the arches in Arches, the pinnacles in Bryce Canyon, and the canyons in Canyonlands, Zion, and Capitol Reef. (It’s still ambiguous whether Upheaval Dome is a collapsed salt dome or a meteorite impact scar; the authors suggest a compromise, where impact-induced fracturing provided a pathway for a salt diaper). No bibliography or references; good for people with a casual interest. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
