Het leven van een jonge vrouw neemt een onverwachte wending als de vader van haar zoontje na jaren terugkeert in hun leven ( ) NCLA Review -Twenty-four year old Julia DeSmit heads a cobbled–together family consisting of her grandmother, her young son, Dan, and her almost-teen stepbrother whom she took in when his mother deserted him as she had earlier deserted Julia. She is grateful the family is holding together and her serious romance is progressing toward marriage. After the novel’s pleasant but ho-hum start Julia receives a totally unexpected email from Dan’s previously-out-of-the-picture father and the story suddenly takes off. The main characters are Christians and model a fair amount of wisdom and maturity as relationships become increasingly complicated, despite Julia’s attempts to keep them under control. This is the final book of a trilogy. Discussion questions are included, but assume knowledge of her previous two books. Although Beneath the Night Tree is satisfying by itself, I’d advise librarians to purchase the set. Rating: 3 —DKW nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
