Author Linda Raymond writes an incredible story flowing with an uninterrupted desire to just keep reading. She draws the reader in and sits them down to listen. “Rocking the babies” is a delightful read.

Raymond's debut has some good writing, good dialogue, and good anecdotes--but not enough to make a good book.

Raymond moves gracefully between past and present and offers unusually accomplished characterizations. Though she self-consciously includes a politically correct mix of ethnic backgrounds and ends her story too abruptly, her compelling, uncomplicated prose and imaginative, credible narrative marks her as a writer with a future.
