SUMMER’S BLOODIEST DAYS

Gettysburg was one of the bloodiest battles of the civil war. The book Summers Bloodiest Days is a nonfiction book by Jennifer Weber. The battle was the most intense battle of the civil war. The book was great because, it told both sides of the story, and it had great firsthand knowledge from the battle itself, such as great quotes and pictures.

The setting of the story was in Gettysburg. The author told about the three days in the battle of Gettysburg. The major character from the start is Robert Lee the confederate leader. He was a great leader and guided the south through all of their battles. Even though the south was defeated he was still a very great leader throughout the war. The north even wanted to have him as a general for their side. He knew he could only fight for the south because he was born there.

The book starts off talking about the confederate’s trip to Gettysburg. They were going to Gettysburg for shoes. One man on the confederate side said ‘’my feet hurt me very much!’’. The confederates ran into the union and a three day battle took place. Many people died and there were many interesting stories. One story even told of a 70 year old man fighting! But you will have to read the book to hear about all of the other interesting stories of the battle of Gettysburg. The battle was one of the bloodiest though. Over 135,000 people died. The battle of Gettysburg was the one of the most important battles of the civil war. A union leader even said ‘’Good god if I lose Gettysburg, I am lost’’.

I thought the strengths of the book were its great use of details such as the story of a captain whose leg was put in a museum! I thought the only weakness the book had was it was too short. I at the end of the book I really wanted to keep reading. I think the author really did well in telling both sides of the war equally. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about the civil war. I probably give the book nine stars out of ten.

So you know that I really liked the book and its details. At the end of the book I wanted to read even more about the war. So I think you should give the book a try if you are a really in to learning about the civil war. ( )

Hello the name of my book it “Summer’s Bloodiest Days”. This book was written by Jennifer Weber. This book is non-fiction. This book’s title was “Summer’s bloodiest days”. This book was interesting because of all of the pictures and small stories.
The time period covered is the Civil War. Some of the important events are the War of Getty’s Berg. The war of Getty’s Berg was one of the bloodiest battles ever in American history also all of the little stories from the book about the generals and commanders.
My book was a non-fiction and it was put together very well with the small stories on the sides. One of the stories that stood out to me is the one about the guy getting shot with the cannon and it showed his bone and what it did to him, also his bone is in a museum.
I think she did achieve her goal of the book it was kind of good and I loved all of the pictures. The writing makes you feel like you were in the war with all of the solders and the generals. I think the strengths of this book are all of the little stories and the pictures. I think this book was interesting in some way and dull in others. I would recommend this book to guys that like war books and people interested about Getty’s Berg. I would give this book a 7/10.
I liked this book and it left me feeling like I was in Getty’s Berg with all of the guys and women that were there. It also left me with lots of more knowledge about Getty’s Berg. This book was great I think people should read this book it was interesting. ( )

The Civil War was one of the bloodiest battles in US history. The book “Summer’s Bloodiest Days” by Jennifer L. Weber and James M. McPherson gives a lot of information on the Civil War. It is a great book because it had so much detailed information on the Civil War.

The author’s topic is on the important events of the Civil War. Her main point is to tell you that the Civil War was a very important time period, so she gives you many different events to learn about. The time period is in the 1800’s during the Civil War times. Some events that were important included Pickett’s Charge and The Gettysburg Address.

One very highly stood out event was Pickett’s Charge. It had a full chapter about the time of it. A summarization? It pretty much gives you loads of information on the most important events during the Civil War.

The author did achieve her purpose. Her writing was very effective and powerful. I agreed with her arguments and conclusions. They made me feel excited as they went on, as the action during each event. My overall response is that this book is that it was very moving and interesting. I recommend to others, especially if they love to learn. I do because it has so much information in it. I would give it a 9/10.

My impression after reading this book was that I was amazed. People who like to learn or love the Civil War would love this book. This book left me in shock of all the action the men in war went through. ( )

“ Soldiers on both sides called the whizzing noise ( of bullets) “ music”. Summer’s Bloodiest Days by Jenifer L. Webber is a exciting, descriptive, and gory. The book Summer’s Bloodiest Days was enjoyable because it was very descriptive but it was also a very good book because it was told from both sides of the war. I think it described history very well.
