( ) You're Different and That's Super is a great book to read to students who has problems with thinking they are different. It may help these students understand that everyone is different in some way and that is what makes everyone unique. It is ok to be different and all children should understand that. This is a quick little story about a horse that fits in, then is shunned due to being different, and eventually learns to not only to accept his differences, but that they can be great as well. The story moves quickly, but gets the point across. Images are in black and white, and not very elaborate, but they work within the framework of the book. Ideally, have a bit more flare in the story or illustrations would have been nice, but the simplicity makes it a good story for younger children. "[The author] Carson Kressley galloped onto the scene as a stylist for Polo Ralph Lauren in New York and then became the self-proclaimed 'miracle worker' of fashion in 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy', which airs on Bravo." "Jared Lee's humorous illustrations have delighted millions of readers." ". . .[Here is] the story of a one-of-a-kind pony who learns that it's our differences that make us super."
