Do you ever read a synopsis then a few weeks later you can't remember the book, or is just me & my age?!
I have either read a review or a synopsis of a PA world inhabited by zombies, years have passed and (walled?) cities have been created, I'm not sure whether the inhabitants co-exist with the zombies or one are on the inside of the wall and the others are on the other side. I know it's not The Passage, but I'm not sure whether it's The Reapers Are The Angels or Boneshaker or something else entirely! Sorry, I know it's not much to go on.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ha, well Boneshaker fits what you've described. It is set in the Pacific Northwest a number of years after an apocalyptic event caused the inhabitants to wall up a city, zombies inside. It's not really about the zombies though, they hardly are discussed. It is more about an alternative (steampunk) history than it is an apocalyptic book or zombie story.
The Reapers are the Angels doesn't have any walled cities but there is a group of survivors living in a manor estate that is walled. The Reapers are the Angels is very much about the zombies, and the heroine who was born after a zombie apocalypse.
Both are excellent books...but very different.
There is a book called the Forest of Hands and Teeth which is about a community living inside walls with zombies outside. That story is set far in the future. The community has become quite regimented and restrictive.
There is another book I read about a community living inside a walled housing estate with zombies outside. There are elite teams inside the community that go out on scavenge missions. I forgot the title but can look for you if this sounds more familar.

Thanks for that. I think I have remembered bits from several synopsis's and got them mixed into one! Another one of the books I was thinking it might be was Laid Hold the Dragon. Has anyone read it, if so, is it worth getting?
Another interesting one is Summer of the Apocalypse which seems to be similar to Earth Abides. For some reason it's quite expensive to buy, so before I spend my hard earned cash I'd be interested to know if it's any good!
