Just out of curiosity (all are welcome in this group, of course), are you:

1) An FSP participant
2) Thinking about becoming an FSP participant
3) Just curious/liked all the good books we read :)
4) NH Native/Friend of the FSP

I'm #1, in fact I moved to NH just over a month ago.

I'm #3. I couldn't move to New Hampshire even if I wanted to, given my financial situtation. But maybe one day when things settle down I can up anchor and make the big move.

I'm a #1 but haven't moved yet. Maybe in a couple years. Manchester looks like a nice place for a city-type like myself.

Maybe several years from now, but in the present to near future I'm quite comfortable where I'm at and can't see moving anywhere.

#1 and First 1000 who was unable to dispose of business in time to make it to NH by 12/31/08. Still trying.

Somewhere between #1 and #2. I am 90% convinced that it is a good idea. The research that was done to decide the location, and then publishing the research on the WWW, is a good part of what sold me on the idea. The Porcupines are definitely serious about it.

Somewhere between #2 and #3. From an autarchist perspective, I'm not really convinced that it makes much difference what political creed my neighbors subscribe to. Moreover, I got partially burned out on this whole concept from helping draft various Constitutions for a Free State back in the 1970s. At least this incarnation isn't likely to be claimed by the king of Tonga!

#19: I'm not really convinced that it makes much difference what political creed my neighbors subscribe to.

In most cases around the country and the world, you'd be right. But Jason Sorens' idea wasn't based on creating neighbors of like mind, but based on what it would take for activists to have a sustainable movement that can leverage itself both within and outside the system. And it's not like the idea is to create a new government from scratch, but to modify an established civilization with an historically functional economy.

I fall into the first category. I plan on moving ASAP, which means as soon as I have paid off my debt (to members of their society, that is). Right now it looks like I will be moving in mid 2011 or beginning of 2012, depending on how much my money I get for my house.

It is very important what "politics" my neighbors subscribe to, since I do not want to be thrown in a cage or attacked for not following the arbitrary rules of other individuals or the the clubs to which they belong.
