I’m happy to be back for another year of reading big books. I started out in one of my favorite historical time periods, Ancient Rome, in this case in the Roman Republic, with The First Man in Rome, the first book in the Masters of Rome series by Colleen McCullough.
It was a dense, engrossing reading experience with a large glossary and pronunciation guides, which were very helpful. I really enjoyed it.
