Okay, This is a long shot.
Years ago, maybe 2010-ish i read a Harlequin book i picked up from a buy & swap type of bookstore. I am dying to read it again but cannot for the life of me remember title nor character names.

From memory: Girl runs a bookstore? might have been her dads or grandfathers.(honestly, it might be neither of these) She wears mismatched socks because of an accident or something she had been in as a child and cant tell colours well. Anyway she eventually falls in love with a rich, maybe rancher? Who has a security guard or something with him that coincidentally knows the girl from the incident in her past. there is a scene in there where i think the sheriff tries to dance with her and the rancher gets jealous. And also they talk about a war in north africa about a specific division that they both know about? I think there was a scene about the bodyguard throwing pasta to check if it was al dente. And the girl at the end says something about getting a dress off the rack and her new fiance says she'll be in something custom made.

And this...although im not entirely sure whether its part of the book or not. I think she gets appendicitis or some medical episode because she stays with the "rancher" in his home.

Thankyou and please help!

>1 samsumon: Good luck with your search! I'm afraid I don't know the title, but the description sounds an awful lot like a Diana Palmer story. Something along the lines of Iron Cowboy. You might want to scan a list of her books.

>3 samsumon: That was it? Cool! It did ring a few bells, but I haven't actually read it. I just read a fairly memorable review of it. :=)
