Limited to 450 hand-numbered copies and signed by 99-year-old author Henry Kissinger. https://www.eastonpress.com/signed-editions/henry-kissinger-leadership-six-studi...

Nice to see this. Too bad they diverted from the traditional red cover like all of his other Easton Press volumes.

I hadn’t noticed that, but you’re right. It is strange that this one would appear to be out of series.

Some of our younger members might not know who Henry Kissinger is. He was Secretary of State under Nixon and Ford during some particularly tense Cold War events including the Vietnam War. He was and still remains a controversial figure among historians and political scientists, but he was a Nobel Peace Prize recipient in 1973. Among his other interests is art.

There is a museum here in Tulsa (Gilcrease Museum of Art) that specializes in western art — lots of Remingtons, Russell, Catlins, etc. Among its holdings are some wall-size landscapes by Thomas Moran. When Kissinger felt unusually stressed he would leave his office in D. C. and fly to Tulsa. According to the museum’s director, he would sit quietly in front of these Morans for an hour or so. Then he would get up feeling renewed and fly back to his office.

I’m pretty bummed also that it is not matching his previous ones in the EP catalog. I was so hoping to add another red one to my collection.

Not sure if I’m going to get this one. I know I’ll regret it if I don’t though 😏

My copy arrived this week and is surprisingly up-to-date. “The triangular relationship between America, China, and Russia will eventually resume — though Russia will be weakened by the demonstration of its military limits in Ukraine, the widespread rejection of its conduct, and the scope and impact of the sanctions against it. But it will retain nuclear and cyber capabilities for doomsday scenarios.”

He closes with a quote from Epictetus: “We cannot choose our external circumstances, but we can always choose how we respond to them.”

I ordered my copy within days of its announced availability and received copy 425 out of 450, further proof that EP does not deliver them sequentially, but also indicating that there is only one print run for this book.

Banner said there were only 45 left in stock.

I just purchased one, so that number is now down to 44.

Selling fast. I don’t think this will last another week.

“Physics has learned that reality is altered by the process of observation. History similarly teaches that men and women shape their environment by their interpretation of it.” — Henry Kissinger

Fence sitters beware. Just 12 copies remain.

I wonder if they will now publish a red one to match the previous Kissingers. It would be a non-first-edition, non-limited, and have a different cover, but would still be signed like all the others in the series.

Have

That

Book.

Resistance is futile. 😀

I received my copy yesterday. On the first brief look, analogies in structure and ideas with Plutarch come to mind.
What I have read so far is excellent. Highly recommend to get it, if you are still making a decision.

Sold out!

Not surprising.

My condolences to those who missed out! 8-)
