"New" labels?

I'm redoing the church library, which hasn't been touched since the 80's. I've gleaned, and am now cataloguing. I'm wondering about putting bright labels on the new(er) books I'm slowly acquiring. Among other things, I want to be able to remove them without damaging the book! Any thoughts?

I use a Brother P-touch label maker to make many kinds of labels for a church library. They peel off easily from plastic book jacket covers and most hardcover children's picture books.
