Help, I messed up! I was cleaning up some of my entries from years ago, before many of the current features existed. I have the Easton Press edition of RN: The Memoirs of Richard Nixon. I originally listed the two volumes individually, but now I wanted to list this as a single title in two volumes.
After making all of my updates, I expected this title to separate from the work titled RN: The Memoirs of Richard Nixon, Volume 1, but that did not happen. I noticed a canonical title that included Volume 1. I stupidly removed that, but replaced it when I realized my mistake.
Next I tried to separate my book from Volume 1, but I could not not get that to work. Can anyone help?

Done.
Books do not generally move works when the title is edited. It was easy to find the copy without 'vol 1' and separate it. The right work was immediately suggested.

Also, in general canonical title should be left blank so the system can calculate the best title

In this case, I would guess that the canonical titles were put in during a major sorting action. Not sure is these are the best choices, but it is good for the three works to match. This is the way LoC has catalogued it.
