There's a lot of mid-series books.! And mush as I enjoy some ER titles I'm not buying/reading 2-3 (or 5!) other books just so that the one I've been asked to review makes sense. There was a publisher who sent (as ebooks!) the whole prior series, I'd be prepared to request them on that basis, butit would be really useful to know. At least they are indicated as mid-series which is better than jumping in cold.

>3 reading_fox: Although I can't provide earlier books in a series, one thing I have worked on improving, when it comes to ER titles, is clearer indications when books are part of a series. Hopefully this will allow members to make more informed choices, when it comes to what is available.

It sounds more as if you're talking about commercial movies. I've admired lots of books that only make sense within their series. (And gratefully won one as an Early Reviewer.)

And where does that logic stop? If Vanity Fair is in 2 volumes, does Volume 2 have to stand alone? Or take the Odyssey: each "chapter" is a book. Must each stand alone?
