What was your final rating? Why?

5. I enjoyed the story; learned some new facts about Britain's relationship with America at that time; and Hero and St. Cyr made it to the altar - I was nervous that they wouldn't for some reason or other. And I'm glad the marriage itself has been consummated - hopefully, this means they're off to a good start (though I hope Kat will not be a problem in the future).

4.5 rounded to a 5 because of the confusing plot.

I will stay at 4. I love the characters and can't wait to read the next one, but this was my least favorite so far.

>2 Sergeirocks: I think that Kat will be in the future stories but if she was going to make problems for them she would have done it before the wedding. She knows when she's lost but I think they will always have strong feelings for one another.

I really liked the section of the story that Hero showed she was not some wimpy wallflower and didn't need a man to come and rescue her. That section alone earned this book that was up to it's ears in confusion...a 4.5 rating. Well done Hero!!!

3.5. Because I had trouble keeping track of suspects, countries and motives, the story lost momentum for me. The story had some interesting parts and I like the characters but I was a bit disappointed with this one. But I enjoyed the previous ones I’ve read and want to continue this series.

I'm ending at 4. I still love the characters and am happy that Hero and Sebastian are married but this is probably my least favorite so far just because of all the subplots.

This was a particularly complex one, but great to see such a strong female lead. Overall need to give it 5 stars.

I would give this book a 4. As a first timer to the series I found it a lively, colourful read with strong characters. Hero is a heroine to root for and I liked the Regency setting.

However I thought the book was overburdened with plot and suspects and could have done with a bit of sharp editing.
