What were the best features of the book?

The entire book was fantastic. Good suspense in every chapter. I learned long ago that fiction is just that...but the part with Juan changing the flags when preparing to sink his ship...his wanting her to "die" wearing the U.S, flag and none other...brought a few tears and lots of chills.

I liked that this book was different from the others in the fact that Juan had to try to save the Oregon instead of the Oregon going out and saving others.

A good plot.

Plenty of action without being too much. Like >2 Carol420: I got very emotional when Juan changed flags so that the Oregon could die under its own flag. I love pomp and ceremony.

>5 Olivermagnus: I love pomp and ceremony too. When our son graduated from the Naval Academy and we attended the ceremony he said "What ever you do Mom please don't cry when they play the National Anthem".

>3 EadieB: that's a good description for this story line!

I liked that, while there were action scenes and rescues going on, none were too terribly over the top or exaggerated. Too often in these books we have to suspend our disbelief
