I suppose it must be wishful thinking on her part. It is possible for someone to change so it might have been true. It makes a better storyline if he's rehabilitated.

It's possible - if he'd received enough beatings from the other inmates during his incarceration.

He didn't seem to be repeating his previous assault pattern, so he may have been rehabilitated, Unfortunately we will never get to really find out thanks to Evil Alex. He was good to the dog and the dog seemed to like him. That has to give him Brownie points.

It's hard to believe the mother since it is her son and he was living with her. Although it's possible, it is very hard to change and a person has to really want to do that and make a lot of effort to do it.

I don’t totally buy into this. Was it just not wanting to go back to prison. A vicious attack in the first place, does that desire go away?

>7 Andrew-theQM: I don't believe that it indicated that he had ever done this before or even been arrested. Is this something that someone just decides on the spur of moment to do?

>8 Carol420: it seemed that the police had his DNA - I couldn’t tell if it was already in the system due to him having a record or if it was matched after he was identified as a suspect.
