What are your thoughts about Buchanan? Was he right in what he said to Tony about Tony going into Magda's room on his own?

In a way he was right and should not have gone to Magda's by himself.

he was as it could affect her testimony if needed. I did think he went after Tony a little too strong though as he was trying to deflect from his own negligence. And, if Sergei is correct, to keep Magda from identifying him as the culprit.

Tony shouldn't have gone to Magda's room but it wasn't for any ulterior motive. Buchanan might have been worried Magda would identify him to Tony as her attacker.

These are my thoughts, too. Buchanan was right in saying that Tony should not have gone in alone as a defence team could spin it against the prosecution's case. But I'm betting it was also more to do with wanting to cover his own back. Tony is just about the only cop Magda will trust to tell Buchanan's name to if, as I believe, he was the one to attack her.

Tony should never have gone alone. While he didn't talk with her he could have talked to her and caused her future testimony to be disallowed. On the other hand I think Buchanan is worried that Magda is going to give him up as the person that beat her.
