Author of Splendid Solution: Jonas Salk and the conquest of polio, Jeffrey Kluger spoke at the Iowa Library Association conference earlier this month. I loved this year's book--I'm a nonfiction reader, anyway, and I was happy to see that the AIR committee chose a nonfiction--it is one of those that "reads like fiction." Next year's book is fiction again, and Anne Tyler isn't my favorite author but I'll give it a try...

Yes, the All Iowa Reads title for 2008 is Digging to America, by Anne Tyler. It's about time to start a new Topic thread, for a new book!

Quite a book, 'Digging to America', (I can't find how to make the title blue). I'm going to follow the tag cloud closely to see what the tags might be. I thought many reviews I read missed many of the strengths of the book as if the readers were looking for something else.
Much to think about between those covers.
