Where are all the Crambo lovers?

Wakie, wakie.
Won't you get out of your hibernation and come play Crambo with me!

Hint:
Mystifying, bewildering
A fun game for the evening
Solve it at all cost
To not feel lost
Some find it hard, but amusing

I was going to say "destroy oneʻs own ship",
but the hint seemed to rule that out;
so Iʻll say (though the rhyme seems
imperfect) is it __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __:
popular indoor game, which has even
had LT threads.

Hmmm. If the rhyme doesn't require the "t" sound, Crambo could be thinking of a game that you play without a quite full deck*, and which lets you score both by taking tricks and constructing melds...

* Many of us do lots of things that way, but in this case it's by design IIRC.

Excellent guesses. Try again, please.

Not battle, scramble, pinochle.

Hint:

It's said that they are brain teasers
Just historians have the answers
Was it a voodoo
That God die for you?
Who was Jack the Ripper?

Does Crambo's word make such a fine distinction that it's difficult to analyze or describe?

Nice job, Jim. I admire your ability to be critical of others, but my word isn't that difficult to describe. See more hints below, please.

Not: battle, scramble, pinochle, critical

Purchase it from any toy store
Lay it on the desk or the floor
It's shaped as jigsaw
A game for bourgeois
Fun like eating petit four

>6 HumalaHumas: My guess in #5 was not "critical."

>9 Jim53: Hangin' in there! I've missed Crambo but I'm not sure I'm up to playing in this new "all-rhyme" format. I've got all I can do to think of words, let alone concoct clever guesses for them. Y'all are playing over my head here. :-)

#7 Would you like to make another guess, please? My word may be hard to analyze for some people, but I don't think it has a fine distinction.

#8 My goodness. Where do I start with that one? Too vague, too little information for me. Most importantly, my word is a noun, not an adjective.

Not: battle, scramble, pinochle, riddle

If Crambo's word is what I think it is, these three guesses are all good rhymes:

Sometimes, while I'm trying to chug my drink, my dog will gently push against me with her velvety front of her face.

#12. I am baffled by all three of your guesses.

Not: battle, scramble, pinochle, riddle, baffle

Crambo or crossword
A donkey in Narnia
Jigsaw, sudoku

If I'm right this time, all three of my guesses in #12 are good rhymes for it.

I missed the link between "push" and my word at first, thinking that they don't rhyme because of the difference in pronunciation. It rhymes, albeit imperfectly.

So you won the thread, Jim. My word is puzzle.

Congratulation.

#5 was subtle; #12 was guzzle, nuzzle, muzzle. I'll start a new game tomorrow.

New game is over here. Y'all come play!
