Good morning, scribblers! Anyone stay up to write at midnight? How many words ya got?

The writing lounge is up and running again this year, with hot and cold running caffeine beverages, rewards treats for those who need them, and of course, people cheering you on. (*Yes, the cheerleader outfit and pom poms are out again this year for me*)

As they say in so many places these days...

"And so it begins."

Watch for the weekly check in thread (provided I don't slack on them again this year. LOL)

Thanks!

Since we are RVing it, I have less alone time to write (close quarters don'tcha know. PLus, we have a brand new member of the family who's very loving and adorable, a 7 months old labradoodle named LC. Between her and the hubster my time writing will be limited.

Still, it's only noon here and I've got my requisite number of words for the day. I'll have more time this evening when the hubster crashes and snores while watching the tube.

Got a great jump, working midnights helps, so I hit 1945 words at around 9am, so WOOO-HOOO!

I am notorious for starting projects like this and not finishing them, so fingers crossed that I finally stick to something!

Just a wee bit short at ~1500 words at midnight of the first day.

I made it to 951 today. Not enough to be on target, but more than I've managed on anything in quite a while.

Yay, you all rock!

I started this morning without a glimmer of an idea what to write, and I just counted my words for the day ~ came to 1,191! All those words without even knowing what the story is going to be about. How's that for seat-of-the-pants writing?!?

I've got 1600+ in the bank. I'm using a trick this year and giving my protagonist a double name to help with the word count. I'll use initials to speed up the typing and then replace the initials with the two names when each chapter is completed.
I'm saving my work in Google docs and they get draggy if the doc gets too long. I make each chapter a different doc. If I get to the end I'll put them all together for the final word count.
Back to work now!
