I'm going to see the Cambridge Greek play this year, which is Medea, so I've been having a go at reading it (in Greek and English). Medea's motives make sense to me, but I find the ending unexpected. I would be interested to hear what anyone thinks about the play.

But that's the twist! Euripides sets you up, even 'prophesying' the end a different way in the beginning, then around line 800...bam! Different than you have been told.

Medea is my favourite of the classical tragedies. How was the production?

It was brilliant. It was set in the nineteenth century and the chorus were suffragettes/new women. Sounds weird but it worked!
